Hi I know this sounds a tad bizzare but is their another Allan Shaw who is a freelancer here in the UK. Reason I am asking is that world challenge have paid my exped fee into a natwest account and I dont even have an account with them?

Could you get the other Alan Shaw's details from World Challenge and contact his branch of Natwest and see if they can do anything?

There's bound to be a way of finding out where the money is gone.

Banks often seem to play nice after they've been contacted by Radio 4.

This has been covered by various consumer programs. The clearing system only works on account number and sort code. If you get the name wrong, that makes no difference. If you pay into the wrong account then you can hope that that person will kindly return the money, but there is no guarantee and I believe there is no recourse either.

I guess you should be ok because world challenge (whoever they are) have not fulfilled their side of a contract by paying you. They paid someone else by accident - their problem.
