I have to replace the bearings in my bottom bracket. It's a threaded raceface xtype I think, it that has been in the frame for some time. Do i

A) take it too the lbs because it's cheaper than doing it myself
B) buy the tools myself because it's cheaper and do it
C) ditch the raceface bb and buy shimano

I also need to replace the headset, possibly pivot and rear hub bearings which I will also need tools for. I have the tools to get the cranks off. I won't be using this frame for more than a year so don't want to invest in any specific tools.

Personally, I think I would take it to lbs. Once you start needing numerous tools that you are not likely to use often, I reckon its more economical to just get them to do it. I do most bike repairs myself, and I have access to most tools, but very occasionally I just decide its a bike shop job!
