Can the rest of the UK vote Scotland out?

Seems a little weird how Scotland alone can vote to leave the Union, a choice that is going to effect England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with these three countries not having any say in the matter, for better or worse however you look at it. Personally I feel if they want to leave, let them, as long as Scotland doesn't then expect special favors and comes running back should it all go wrong for them. However, reading all the stuff on here and the media etc, its made me think...why can't the rest of the union have a vote of if we actually want Scotland to remain part of the UK?
Apart from oil, which will one day run out and opinion varies on how much it is actually worth in the overall scheme of things to the UK economy as it currently stands, I fail to see what else Scotland brings to the UK that makes them think they would be so much better of by themselves - paying for their own NHS, forces, pensions etc etc
