West Lancs Beacon Extreme Sports Village, with Climbing Sports, Bouldering, Snow and Ice, Snow boarding, Mountain Biking, Surfing, caving, X country skiing.......

Still in the planning but, near Skelmersdale/Wigan.

In reply to Stu Tyrrell:Wigan/Skem are not really near any other walls. Warrington is probably the nearest, but this area is generally a bit removed from the "hotspots" of climbing. I know - it is the devil of a job to get a regular partner round here.

In reply to sutty: The ice wall is still under construction. 2 climbing towers, £5.50 for 30 mins with instruction. No leading as yet, but has capability (still working on operating procedures). Via ferrata and high level obstacle course on a tramway. Towers have top-roping and self-belays.
Ski slope open, cheapest is £20 for 0900-1100 Mon-Fri, other times twice that (£20/hour)prices include skis, poles & boots or boards/boots, no discount for own gear, warm clothing can be hired. 190m long slope
22 lane bowling alley, cinemas, pubs, restauarants reasonably priced. Freeport next door. Skate park under construction.
