We're staying here for a couple of nights next weekend.

What bedding is provided? I know it's Alpine hut style bunks but do they also provide blankets/pillows or is that something I need to bring along?

Also, what facilities do they have in the kitchen?

No bedding of any sort provided bar the mattress.

All cutlery, crockery, pots and pans provided.

I'm guessing it's too much to hope there's a fridge, microwave or kettle? Probably not but I just want to check.

There's a kettle, and cooking facilities, no microwave

There are gas burners but can't remember if there is an oven, don't think so.

I just wanted to check whether I was wasting space packing those microwavable porridge sachets. The pots you add boiling water to suck a bit!

They used to, but tipping the pilot was a bit prohibitive!

Yeah, the SMCmembers like to walk up and do the washing every week NOT - it's a club hut not a hotel....


But seriously, bring your own sleeping bag - toilets, cooking facilities, etc provided.The hut is half way up a mountain, so don't expect beer on tap!!! Gas and electricity available as long as there is wind!! Great place to stay though. All details available on the SMC website! Enjoy!

Thanks but that's why I go to the Ritz in Piccadilly (Holiday Inn in bad years) instead of Ben Nevis. Live and learn...
