I remember him in that dreadful 'comedy' with Windsor Davies, but he did some great stuff like 'The Cruel Sea'.

Reading his obituary I was amazed to see he was one of the only two attendees at the funeral of Alfred "Bosie" Douglas - a link to a time long past.

He was a good actor - who actually never took himself too seriously (lampooning, a much overlooked artistic quality)
