Hi Folks
Has anyone used this pack?
How did it go?
I am looking for something large and light for very extended trips.
Thanks

The new ones or the old ones? I had one of the old black and red models, but didn't like it much. Too short for me (I'm 6'7") compared to a Macpac or size L Osprey etc. and too bulky out the back. It was a bit bare-bones for heavier loads, they were really meant for bulky but light expedition loads at altitude - down suit, sleeping bag etc. Apparently the new models are a bit better for load carrying, though still relatively light. They seem to have changed quite a few things.

I think ASM/PP at Katoomba had some of the new(er) ones in stock, not sure if they were the latest model. I think unless you want super light then an Osprey or Macpac would be better for big loads.

Thanks Damo
There does not seem to have been a lot of these about,
Have any forum users seen them in use?
Are there any other suggestions for a large light sack
for long walks or Himalayan traverses?

If light weight is really important, then I can recommend Cilogear packs, but with postage to AUS they're not cheap: http://www.cilogear.com/7511.html

The big BD pack, the Mission 75, might be around somewhere in Australia. I'm not crazy on their back harnesses though.

You can sometimes find a Crux AK 70 on special online, also a big light pack - http://www.crux.uk.com/en/rucksacks.php?range=1&product=5
