Hi,

I'm looking to buy myself a watch with an in-built altimeter and barometer for general alpinism/mountaineering. Does anyone have any recommendations? Not looking for anything too fancy. Just something that does the above, has a decent battery life and can take a few knocks without breaking.

Cheers,

Tim

Suunto core or the Vector both ideal robust and fairly easy to use
Can be had fairly cheap if you search around. I've had a few of both
Never let me down moved on to the Ambit but miss my old core and its crazy storm alarm

I like my Suunto Vector.

+1 for Suunto Core. Storm alarm is "crazy" and can be turned off. I always turn it back on again though out of curiosity but don't leave it on at night time

I've been using the same Casio altimeter watch for over 20 years. Do they still make them?

I love my Timex Expedition watch. Plus it looks the part as well

+1 for the Timex Expedition, not very nice to look at but absolutely functional and very accurate.
