Just realised its lunchtime, not sure what to have but pretty hungry - anyone offer some lunch ideas?

What resources are available to you? Are you looking for something from town centre snack outlets? Kitchen cupboards? Jungle and bowie knife?

Tuna mayo sandwiches with Bombay Mix added at the last moment for texture.

Trust me, you won't regret it.

Rural setting, no town centre snack outlets, kitchen cupboards, fields and hedgerows all available though

Really? I'm out of Bombay mix unfortunately though.

Yup. I had some tuna mayo sarnies a bit back & felt they needed some texture. The traditional solution of crisps was unavailable, so I tried Bombay mix & it was a revelation.

I've tried it on various other sandwiches since with varying levels of success, but nothing has come close to tuna.

In reply to Chris Harris:

Ok, may have to with the tuna mayo and crisp sarnie then

Pretty poor response on the whole though, this place housed to be great source for sorting out what to have for lunches and other meals, not to mention which particular biscuit to have with your cup of tea.......

Cheese on toast with chilli sauce?

Poached egg in tomato sauce?

I can't remember where I came across this, but the basic idea is to make a really simple tomato sauce by slightly reducing down a tin of tomatoes with a bit of garlic and chilli and then crack an egg onto the top, cover it until the egg cooks and serve the whole thing on toast.

One of my favourite sandwiches is egg mayo with bombay mix, born out of post-christmas desperation.

In reply to Clarence:

F*ck no!

Why'd you ruin an egg mayo sandwich liek that for?

Though I reckon bombay mix and humous would go really well. Any triers (I've not got bombay mix at home. Or humous)?

In reply to subtle:

Smoked fish or tinned sardines, parsley, chilli tomato chutney, granery roll
