Hi,

I always wondered whether it was possible to climb directly to the summit of Snowdon from Llyn Glaslyn, especially in winter conditions. Has anyone ever done this? Someone must have!

Also, could anyone give me some tips on where to go to climb some gullies in Snowdonia in the winter?

Many thanks,
Gab

Here you go: http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=1346 it's one of the main winter crags in Wales for easy and mid-grade routes. The Trinity gullies are classics and would be great to start with when winter conditions come along.

Also check out the White Guide: https://www.thebmc.co.uk/north-wales-white-guide for general winter guidelines in Wales to avoid environmental damage, some of the crags have quite fragile ecosystems.

I guess you could start at glaslyn then link in to central trinity which takes you the station! There are loads of gully climbs on the trinity face, central being the low grade super classic, in the pass again loads, parsley fern, sinister etc, Cwm llor also gas lots of steady gullys, broad gully probably the best of them with y gully left and right also nice, then pop across the road and tick the classics in Cwm idwall, plenty to go at!

One of the routes tops out by the trig point. Great for startling walkers
