My mum's galaxy tablet has been for a swim for a day in mucky canal water. and obviously won'tstart up... what are the chances of getting the photos of it.

They aren't backed up anywhere.

It probably has an SD card in it. Take it out, wash any mud off it and dry well. Put in computer, you may need an adapter. I reckon there's a decent chance it'll work and they will be on there.

Good luck with the pictures, cleaning and drying the card is the best bet.

We bought a Samsung tablet last Christmas and I was pleased to note that it came with two years accidental damage cover included (including water damage), subject to a fairly small excess. It may be worth checking if that was included on your mum's one.

If it is anything like my Samsung tab 7 then it has internal memory and then additional storage on the SD card. Unfortunately I can't imagine my mum's has an SD card installed as I never put one in.

I will be cleaning and drying the SD cards from the two cameras though!
