Heading to stay in the Sarca Valley and hoping there might be someone who has done some of the routes who can advise: are there good long options for a VS leader, please? The guidebook looks quite ferocious, but it would be great to get on some multipitch routes if there are good options.

Many thanks for any advice,

Matthew

Several routes on placce zebrate (rita, man ilia, teresa & similar)
Several routes on lastoni di dro, up to 9 pitches and easy slabs to start with.

Have a look at heinz grills arco website for topos of the latter and others ...

As mentioned, Via Rita on Placche Zebrate is a grand day out...it's a bolted route, as are all the main routes on this face. Very popular. Lots of friction climbing. Not always obvious where the next bolt is but you can often pick up a clue by looking out for the scuff mark on the rock at the bolt you've just clipped, cos of the repeated scuffing by the many zillions of quickdraws that have been hung off it: scuff to the left= trend left; scuff to the right=trend right!

Thank you very much for this confirmation - greatly appreciated, and I like the quickdraw scuff tip.
