Horrible news from Ottowa. Seems somewhat similar to the Lee Rigby killing here - public attack on a soldier. May he rest in peace.

Sounds like they managed to stop him doing a lot worse. I'm surprised its happened in Canada though, I've always thought of it as a very peaceful place.

I wonder how long it will be before something like this happens in the US, with every potential home-grown terrorist there legally entitled to own guns?

You mean like the Oklahoma Bombing, a home grown terrorist who killed 168.

Or like the Boston Marathon bombing?

Hmmm, I forgot Boston, but that was a bombing, then running away rather than a public statement wasnt it? (will go and look it up now).

I'm not sure it means canada is violent place? It was a freak one off attack, like the Norwegian Shooter, Dunblane too..

These things can happen anywhere.
