Gran Paradiso late October

I have a Week off and was wobndering whether an asecent of the Gran Paradiso was a practical target at this time of the Year? I assume the Hut would be unmanned.
I have checked the weatyher foecast and it looks clear and settled right the way through to the end of the Week.
Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.

The winter rooms at Chabod or Vittorio huts are excellent. It can be great in late season and the forecast does look good all week.
