I like to get opinions and tips on the best camera to bring on alpine ventures in the Alpes, Patagonia and similar. Think alpine climbing (TD and above) with gloves fall, winter etc. Mixed, Ice etc.

Lets assume budget is not an issue. The goal is to get the best possible set up for the above mentioned activities. To me the a6000 is too big. The a5100 looks possible to carry and climb with. The ned Lumix LX100 looks super interesting along with the GM5. Question is what is best? I currently have a Sony RX100 Mark One that I'm not too happy with. Before that I had a Lumix LX5 that I loved.

- Sony a6000
- Sony a5100
- Lumix DCM GM5

or

Lumix DCM LX100

LX100 looks like the winner.

Unless you don't care about the zoom feature, in which case, the Ricoh GR (fixed 28mm lens) is the winner.

Thanks, I'm no big fan of the Ricoh.

The GM5 is much smaller, touch call.
