Hi, can anyone please recommend a climbing Physiopherapist near Manchester. I recently "tweaked" my elbows in Kalymnos and they are now really hurting. Had to stop climbing yesterday as they hurt so much. I think it may be tennis elbow.
Many thanks

I'm another Manchester climber seeking medical advice from somebody who actually knows climbing for a finger injury. So far my GP and a random sports physio have been pretty much useless.

As you are local, come to BMC injury syposium 15th/16th Nov, there will be so much advice and useful information there on finger injuries and on how to deal with them.
Esp Prof Bhatti's lecture and u/s demonstration of imaging of finger injuries, and there will be plenty of physios there for advice, look out for Stewart Watson, and Tom Bond.
So many other experts there as well...Prof Volkar there!!.... Gary Gibson (top podiatrist) with Rob (another top podiatrist)..for any foot issues
It does look expensive..4 visits to a physio?..but well worth the money, and if you backward in comming forward..plenty of experts to ask advice from.
even an informal bouldering session at rock over if you want to ask someone quietly.
Cheers

There used to be a climbing physio called Andy, sorry can't remember his surname, who took clients climbing at Rope Race wall.He had a practice in Marple, might be worth giving RR a bell to see if he's still around.

They're not climbers, but athlete matters in Worsely wouldn't be a bad plan.

Cathy Gordon is a climber (and mate of mine) She treated my golfers elbow last year - I'm climbing OK again now, I just have to remember to stretch / mobilise etc etc

Hi Chris, sorry to here about that.

It's all about streaching and doing opposing exercices. Search the forums. the one above works for me. Streaching under load is how this works.

I had an elbow problem. It was sorted by Tim Deykin of

Based in Stockport he was recommended by Manchester Climbing Centre & I was very happy with the outcome.

I can 2nd paying a visit to Tim Deykin. Knows his stuff re climbing and paddling. Sorted my elbows (amongst other things!) pretty quickly and won't keep you going back for longer than necessary.
In reply to Ian Carr:

Cheers Ian,
As you know I was beginning to have elbow problems during our trip to Kalymnos (must send you photos) but problem is now severe. Think it is tennis elbow.
