Hi

Wondering if anybody knows any good destinations to head to in the south of France for some (day trip) style walking or scrambling either snow or snowless action around Xmas time?

Basically looking for stuff similar to what you might do around Scotland but with hopefully nicer weather. Also happy to go rock climbing if it gets warm enough.

The Mercantour comes up in a few searches. Never been there. Does anybody have any good suggestions?

Cheers

Try montagne ste victoire ... good climbing, good scrambling, good walks and close enough to cities for really bad weather.

Thank you. That looks a great hill. Other nearby regions similar would be good to learn about. Cheers.

Caroux, north of Beziers?
