kinder fires

Any ideas on the two fires above the shooting lodge below Kinder. Suspect tomorrow's rain will take care of them.

Is it a grouse moor? They'll be burning patches to provide new growth for the birds.

we're in the permitted period, so yes, they'll probably be burning for perceived benefits for grouse.

And being a sometime cynic they'll be burning all the longest growth first to remove any habitat for hen harriers.
