Quick bicycle question: Are all 700c (622) wheels the same width? Is it a universal shape, I know the rim bit can be raised to increase areodynamics but I cant see that affecting the fit to the bike?

I need to buy a new front wheel but all the markings have rubbed off. My tyre is 700 x 23c

if i buy this will it fit? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-rs11-clincher-front-wheel/

thanks!

Didn't Team GB discover one that was better than the traditional circle?

Front wheels are easy, any road wheel will do. Rear wheels have various different free hubs, there are different hub widths for different types of bike, etc.

In reply to Kemics:

Most standard road rims are around the same width, there may be a mm or 2 at the most but nothing to worry about.
In reply to nufkin:

If you remember their wheels were actually MORE round.

The hub widths on road wheels are a standard size. The rim widths vary but you just move the brake pads further apart. These shimano rs11 will fit any road bike.
