Always Above Us, 4 kbIn December of 1998, less than a year before his untimely death, Alex Lowe did the first ascent by climbing the rock pitches with ice tools and crampons. Fifteen years later, alpine climbers Conrad Anker and Kris Erickson set out to create a mixed climbing route that tackles the overhanging rock just adjacent to the route that Alex put up, as a way to honour their friend. Sherpas Cinema have made a short film about Winter Dance, featuring Anker and Erickson as they tell the story of the climb.

I don't know, I just found it too staged, too slick, too cinematic, too artificial (unexplained pre-clipped bolts....). I prefer my climbing vids the raw, unpolished, as it happened sort of thing.
