Can anyone provide me with a link to the blog with the snakes and ladders directions on it? The one on the UKC logbook doesnt work anymore. Cheers!

Im really keen to do it at some point so would love to know how you get on. Im more worried about getting lost as all the blogs ive found through google seem to be slightly different yet none tell you the route as thats "Part of the fun" im sure it is ok once on the ground though.

I know of:
daveclarkesolo.com/climbing-blog/item/18-snakes-ladders-and-the-bridge-of-death.html-(I cant post this link for some reason)

The route finding is easy enough, there's a reasonably comprehensive set of instructions in the back of the slate guide. In terms of technicality, the hardest bit to get up is the chain, but this a) isn't that hard and b) can be aided anyway if you have carabiners which are large enough to clip into the links.

The only tricky bit to find is the passageway from Dali's hole to the bottom of Australia. It's located behind a boulder in the corner of the wall adjacent to the first bit of flat grass you reach once leaving California. The word "tunnel" is even scratched on the rock above it. Furthermore, the lost world no longer has any trees or a pond thanks to a recent rocklfall.

Alot of the dodgy ladders have been "repaired" recently with cord, and the bridge of death has collapsed, so the route is a lot safer/less scary than it used to be.

For anyone interested you can see the route, including the Bridge of Death before it's sad demise on the following link:

Enjoy as it is a most excellent way to spend a few hours!

I have done it before, and it is amazing, just was considering doing it again at the weekend if the weather turns rubbish and can't remember much of it! When I did it I found the guide pretty useless and the blog really helpful, so if anyone can find it/put it back up again that would be ace!

Yeah the slate guide is perfect. I bought it just for the snakes and ladders description only bit we struggled with was finding the lost world...or rather finding the ab point. Got there in the end. Amazing rainy day out! Makes it was more atmospheric
