Hope somebody here can help? I enjoy taking photos whilst climbing, walking and in the hills etc. I currently use a Samsung WB850F (which has served me well), however am wanting to upgrade to allow me to learn more and take better quality photos and have a greater degree of control over the image I take. I have read plenty of articles, yet remain unsure of what I should upgrade to. Budget-wise; not hugely concerned, £500-ish would seem sensible.Size; I can always use my Samsung in my jacket pocket, however don't want to go too big really as I do prefer to travel pretty light.

If anyone can pass on some words of wisdom I would be grateful.

Many thanks.

I would seriously look at the Fuji X-series.

Panasonic Lumix LX100 Large-ish sensor, good lens, small package.

In reply to Kai:

Top of my shopping list, atm, too. Though probably in the Leica finish.

The XC 50-230 lens is very, very good, amazingly light and can be got new for not much more than £200.

Thanks all - went for the new Panasonic LX100 in the end. Not had more than a quick play, however mightily impressed!!
