I just lost my bar at the top in Safari where you can type the internet address in and the search box on the right. Tried to go through all the options, but can't find it. How can I get this back?
HELP???

That's what I did first, but it doesn't show it anymore. The only thing it shows is the bookmarks underneath...

quit safari then go to the preference folder if you're using Yosemite then copy this into your spotlight search bar ~/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.Safari.plist file, restart safari.

In reply to Heike:

found this

"Place the arrow of the cursor on the grey area where the address bar should be. Push and hold the control button (lower left) Click the left mouse button. Up should pop the "CUSTOMIzE TOOL BAR" button. Left lick on it. In the drop window drag "Go to this address" into the area where the address bar should be. Release, and you should have your address bar back."

try that.
