Hey any suggestions for UK routes where a climb is needed to complete.

I guess its tricky cuz you can walk round a crag etc or walk up to a crag and then walk from the top....

Im just looking for journeys where climbing is mean of 'transport' as much as the walking is

Routes nearly always require climbing, almost by definition!

Depends very much where you are. To Snowdon from pen y pass via a route on Lliwedd, bare in mind they are long.

Loads of stuff up to the Glyders from Ogwen.

Scafell via Broad Stand, it's a grade 3 scramble, but the first bit of it feels very much like a climb in the wet. There istn't an easy way round that one.

The obvious is Napes Needle.

look at any spire or needle and you'll find what you want!

Really most mountain multipitches could fall into your definition I think.
Also depends what you classify as "climbing"; there are a fair few mountain ridges that lie on that dividing line between climbing and scrambling.

Cullin is definitely the most obvious.

Unless you count the scramble, but people always call mountain rescue if they attempt that

How about when you have to kayak to get to a climb?

Off shore sea stacks like those at Duncansby Head, beware of extreme tidal race there though.

From Borrowdale, walk in and do Corvus, head east and drop down to Langstrath then back out to Borrowdale. That's a nice one and not too long.
