I loves a bargain so thought sharing super cheap kit that turned out to be excellent would be worth a thread.

My offering would be Campri thermal tops. I got my for £2.50 each at a market but they're not a great deal more online from SD. The fit isn't glam but it is comfy and I can start a run cold, finish it v hot but feel like I'm wearing the right amount throughout - that's a first for me as I'm a bit fussy!

I use them as cheapy jumpers for climbing, running tops, layers and cosy sofa slouchers.

So what the best SUPER cheap kit you found and why?

Less than a tenner and great for all but the coldest winter days.

'Minus 50c'. ...mibbe not that low. But easy to find, and priced down to 6 quid at Screwfix now.

Made me look up the campri reviews:

Same story.

If we ended up with a thread full of gear like this it'd be a godsend!

Get yourself two pairs...as they 'obviously' get a bit sweaty if you wear them for hours..

These tops seem to be popular with East European and Greek immigrants, don't they...?

I wear those Skytec Argon gloves at work (frozen aisle of a supermarket) and they're damn good for the money. As dek says they get a bit sweaty so if anything your hands get cold later on because of your own sweat in the gloves starting to freeze but this is at -22C rather than the nippy spells we have in the UK occasionally. I've worn through the lining on the middle fingers of a few pairs but that's more down to trying to get into crappy boxes than a problem with the gloves. They're cheap enough to just bin when they get minging.

Only bought one yesterday so cannot comment on their durability but my local Asda have lightweight down / pertex type hoody jackets on their sale rack for £5

cheers
