Hi

Planning on doing some hiking in the lakes this weekend ( based in ambleside ) . Weather looks shocking so can anyone recommend a route that doesn't get too high around 8 hrs or more in length . Group are all experienced mountaineers .

Thanks in advance

Park up in Coniston and head towards hodge close and aound the fells on the langdale side of the Road eventually cross back over and head out towards Black Crag. Your low down and weaving in and out of low fells so relatively sheltered and you could chuck a scramble in on Raven, and there are some decent Cafes at start/finish. I`m really commending the area, there are things of interest you could also visit Cathederal Quarry.

You can do some pretty lengthy tramps round Grizedale Forest, with extensions out to visit Tarn Hows, Black Crag and Holme Fell if you wanted some little summits. Cafe at Grizedale is always pretty good too.
