This is a bit of a longshot, but I'm off to Tenerife in two weeks for some sport climbing and looking to head up Teide. Does anyone know if there is snow on it at the moment? I'm hoping so. If so is it a crampon and ice axe job or will poles and crampons do?

In reply to Kid Spatula: I think it's likely there will be snow at the moment but if you want to go to the top i believe you have to get permission beforehand, at least that was the case a few years ago.

Don't worry too much about which time slot you have. We were 3 hours early for ours.

Are you walking up from the road or taking the cable car?

I have never heard of this "google" and certainly haven't looked through loads of webcams to find a decent one to no avail. In particular I certainly haven't looked at that exact link, only to find that you can't see the mountain. It's amazing that you can if you look at a slightly different time from when I never looked at it.
