Hi There,

Does anyone know of reasonably priced accom in the BB national park. Something like a static caravan park would be fine or a small cottage or B&B. Something simple is fine. Just for the two of us for 4 nights. Lots of places only take bookings for a week over that period and I don't really want to pay for 6/7 nights when I am staying 4! I would camp but the other half might not like the cold too much.

Cheers

Any particular area you are interested in, or distance you are happy to travel in the morning? Aberdare country park is, maybe 40 mins from bottom of Pen Y fan at Storey Arms, does good accom for B&B. For access to Eastern Beacons, Abergavenny might be worth looking at. Western Beacons, loads of places such as Llandeilo might be a good place to look which also gives access to some great walking countryside in West Wales.

Not really helpful apart from the country Park sorry - but the walking around Rhondda from there is good too.

You could try Emma Harrison at the Star Bunkhouse in Bwlch. They also have a self-contained cottage.

No idea what their booking situation is, they took it over a few months ago and have been doing a lot of work on the complex, but it's probably worth giving her a ring.

You may be a tad late for this coming Easter, but have you thought about a Youth Hostel? Most of them now have twin/double rooms available. Like I say though, you may be too late now.

Take a look... http://www.yha.org.uk/places-to-stay/region/wales/brecon

You could try this place:

I've not stayed there myself, but have been in the café. It looks good and gets good reviews.
YHAs are also a good option, but could be v busy at Easter.
There are also several Premier Inns to the south of the Brecons - could be worth a look now to see if you can get a cheap deal. We got a room in the Ebbw Vale PI for £29 on one weekend trip.

We have a single room (double bed) self contained b&b, shower, fridge, microwave etc. pub and pub shop basics 300m up the road.
We're very low key and don't advertise or anything, but at Rhandirmwyn so a little way off the park. But plenty of wild country here and needless to say very walker friendly!

Thanks for the offer Moley but I was after a place in the park itself. Will keep you in mind for the future however.

Cheers
