Just read this excellent and well researched book. The book is a reminder that an outing into the Scottish mountains should always be approached with good preparation and caution. It is a long awaited follow up to his book 'The Black Cloud'. One reader sums up 'High Risk' with, 'Anyone interested in mountaineering and human drama, will be fascinated by this well written and captivating book'. Iain has written books on Jock Nimlin and a history of Glenmore Lodge. It's the first book I downloaded on my tablet....old dogs and all that!

In reply to gilliesp:
I've got a copy sitting on the bookshelf, still to read it but will now be a priority,
He's my next door neighbour, a really interesting character with many tales to tell and an archetypal self sufficient, many-skilled highlander.
He's written so many books on wide-ranging subjects from shepherding to sailing.
