Which grade 1 routes would be best to look at trying this weekend in the lake district ? I would appreciate any advise as im only just starting out in winter Conditions This year after going on a winter mountaineering course in scotland last winter

Ridges like Striding Edge and Sharp Edge. Get an early start to beat the crowds. This article may be useful: http://www.ukhillwalking.com/articles/page.php?id=6952

Sharp edge and striding edge are good but not really climbing except for a couple of moves , try heading to Brown cove ( not to be confused with Brown cove Crags which is near) where there are lots of easier lines although you wont find them in any books

If they were really climbing they wouldn't be grade 1!
