Walking "trousers"

I recently lost a favourite pair of walking trousers. Can't remember the name (they used to advertise as used by, I think, one of the Scandinavian armies) but I don't think they are on the UK market anymore.

In essence they were like a slacker fitting pair of Tracksters but not so thin and without the reflective stuff. I'd really like to get something similar to replace them, as opposed to "proper trousers" like Craghoppers but just can't find anything. I saw someone with a pair of Wild Rovers very similar at the weekend but they seem to be gone too.

Does anyone know of something suitable? Thanks.

Thanks but that is what I'm not after, though they look good for the type.

I have a pair of Ron Hill Trackster Trek, which sounds a bit like what you describe. I don't know if they're still available.

They're thicker and not as tight as normal tracksters. I love them for alpine climbing, where they are comfortable over a wide range of temperatures, dry quickly, are very windproof and comfortable for sleeping in. Although I can't say they're particularly fashionable!

Fjallraven, perhaps? Their history mentions the founder attending parachute school, and finding their equipment sub-standard...

Or Bergans, quite probably used by the Noggin army:

Both have fairly extensive trouser ranges. But be prepared for eye-watering prices...

What you describe sounds rather like ski touring trousers, perhaps?

Ski touring stuff may be ideal but what I had was walking based (therefore perhaps more suited to our warmer (!) tempertatures) and neither of the brands you mention but thanks for the suggestions.
