I'm planning to fly RyanAir to France ink July with just hand luggage. Might struggle to fit helmet in small rucksack so planned to carry/wear... Anyone been hassled for similar recently?

I've taken my bike helmet (normal mtb not full face) on planes a few times just clipped to my bag no problem at all.

Ryanair now allow two pieces of hand luggage (one big, one small), so I expect it'd fit as the second.

Just in case you want to check:
One cabin bag weighing up to 10 kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, plus 1 small bag up to 35 x 20 x 20 cms may be carried per passenger*.

www.ryanair.com/en/terms-and-conditions/regulations-cabinbaggage/

Note though that a duty free bag also counts as item number 2, you aren't allowed that as well.

Assuming that it's not a full face helmet then just carry it/clip it to your bag. If they say anything about it on your bag put it on your head.

I've taken a helmet on clipped to my cabin bag 10+ times and never had a problem, including on Ryanair once and Easyjet a few times.
