depends what you want to do. Personally I prefer spring & autumn - warm, often sunny & very pleasant. Others will tell you that winter is better as the friction is better but if, like me, you climb in the lower grades, that's not so important (& winter is very often wet & cool rather than dry & cold). Midsummer can be very hot (40°not unknown) although early morning/evening can be good, especially in the shade.
So all times of the year can be good....
