Dear UK Collective,

I was just following and then commenting on the thread about Dire Straits songs.....

Love Over Gold is my fav.....brings back memories of my 20's...a time of mountaineering, drinking, driving and chasing the opposite sex...all to extreme levels and often simultaneously. Reckless? Yes, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Love Over Gold
"You walk out on a high wire, you're a dancer on thin ice, you pay no heed to danger, and less to advice.."

SO, anyone else with a piece of music that sums up a period of their mountaineering lives?

Climbed the Austrian Route on Les Courtes to The Police, "Giant Steps are what you take, walking on Les Courtes" as an earworm.
Dire Straits Telegraph Road was playing whilst driving over high passes in the Lakes in fog on climbing trip.

My strongest climbing/music memory to date is a trip to the Gower a few years back and climbing Arch Slab with the Callisto mix of Jupiter in my head https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ir_qYYfYG4. Banging!
