I`m used to clubs were the meets are a day in the peaks or a treat a trip to Cornwall or Pembs, but look at this http://www.climbers-club.co.uk/meets/?event&ref=166 thats class, I`ll have to get myself in there.

Wow! How things have moved on. When I was a lad in the 60s and 70s my Dad was a member of the CC, we often stayed at Helyg and once at the Count House. Also had reciprocal rights to F&RCC huts but I don't remember any boat trips being offered.

Yep I'm a CC member and can confirm they have great huts, great meets, great members and all adds up to making a great club!

One of the people on the meet is called the Doctor, one is called the Apprentice and one is only referred to in the first person

This was an imaginative new trip for this year. At the more conventional but still adventurous end of the spectrum, we had a trip to Pabbay and Mingulay last year and there's another one this year to Mingulay. There are plenty of weekend meets as well. I take it your thread title was tongue firmly in cheek - we've got loads of climbing bum types in the CC!
