Don't get much time free as have young kids but have bagged a day free next Sunday (1st March)

I recently bought an ice axe and crampons and did a walk up Daear Ddu Ridge, I quite fancy something harder in the same snowy vein. My climbing partner has axe but no crampons (maybe I could bully him into renting some?).

Alternatively (and I think my partners preference) we might go and do some rock climbing in Lakes maybe Corvus or maybe pushing our grades on something single pitch if dry - my thinking though is that it might not be so fun if bloody cold.

Any suggestions? Needs to be driving distance from Manchester but long day ok.

Too vague? Too newbieish?

How about if I specify something in Snowdonia? And say that I am a happy climbing low grade rock stuff and walking up hills in snow (but nothing much more).

I guess we won't know what the conditions are going to be till next week but I'd love to have a bash at a gully - something like http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/c.php?i=65333 maybe?

Am I right in thinking that grade 2 ish stuff would be ok-ish to Solo?
