Clarks 7-8 speed Quick link, the side plates have a concave side. Does concave side go on the inside (towards bottom bracket going round chain ring ) or on the outside with concave side facing out going round chain ring?

PS Halfords have 7-8 speed anti rust and 8 speed clarks chains 3.99 or 3.49 including quick link, in store price may be higher so reserved online.

Haven't used those, but the Wipperman ones I use on 10 speed go on in the way that looks right.

I.E. the curve of the link matches the curve of the chain ring/cassette.

The long curved side rather than the nick in the other side, if that makes sense.

Having looked at the image you linked to, I would say that yours go the same way.
