Looking to go away for a year long trip; mostly sport climbing - with the odd section of trad in Asia and possibly some Africa thrown in.

I know it is not that easy (or it can be expensive) to get shoes while away. If we were to stock-up on rock shoes before we left.. just wondering if anyone has experience of how many pairs we might need for a dedicated 1-year climbing trip?

I went through a pair every 3-4 months when climbing 2 days on/1 off, on predominately limestone.

i think that 4 pairs will be enough.
