Down from £200 to £140. Have been using this rope for sport for over a year and it is fantastic.

I bought a 70 m sterlimg as my last sport rope. It is 9.4, I rhink, nice and light and handles well. I only ever use it for sport, I have twin ropes that I use for trad. I also have wall rope as I don't wand to trash my nice rope.

I have the very same rope (in a different length) and it is outstanding. Two grit seasons climbing twice a week and going strong. What's more, that price is a ridiculous steal. I paid (nearly) that much for 40m of the same. Highly recommended.

Another vote for the Infinity. Super rope, especially if you can get it at a adecent price.

Again, the infinity is a great rope. If you can afford it the serenity is even lighter

Infinity is just brilliant rope. I have one and it's probably the best rope I ever had.

Sterling Fusion Nano rope is a good choice as well. My girlfriend has one and loves it. We normally take it on most of Alpine climbs as well as sport.

Edelweiss Energy on other hand was very bad pick. After a month of climbing in Spain if was all fluffy and looked like it has been used for years.

Just to maintain the Mammut bias... I have a 9.2 mm Revelation (70m, dual colour), and it is a lovely rope. Good specs, great soft handling. But crikey does it feel thin. Not in a dangerous way like, but it definitely doesn't feel like a workhorse.

A friend of mine has the Infinity, and the 0.3 mm makes a huge difference to my perception of its robustness, believe it or not (and that seems ridiculous seeing it written down, but there you go!). I'd be happy to work routes on the Infinity and would gladly drag it around on a trad route. I'm not sure the same could be said for the Revelation... However, I don't think the Infinity is the nicest handling rope I've used. It's not as supple as some others, and the new shineyness feeling got somehow slightly rough, rather than soft. Despite that, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and for £140 I'm having a really hard time not buying one for myself...
