Road bike hire on Lanzarote

Prompted by the other thread, I thought I'd get this one in, too.

Heading to Lanzarote in a few weeks and trying to decide whether to take my Sunday best bike, as I've heard the roads are lovely to ride on.

Downsides to taking it are I don't want it trashed by airport staff, even though it will be in a bike bag and I'm going with wife and toddler, so I expect I'll only be allowed a couple of days to ride it, anyway.

Hence, I'm thinking of taking my shoes and pedals and hiring for a couple of days, so, can anyone recommend a decent bike hire place - we're staying in Puerto del Carmen.

Route recommendations also appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

We went last year, took shoes & pedals and hired from here: http://revolutionlanzarote.com/

Friendly staff, decent enough bikes, loads of route info from the owners who are English.

I only managed two days out.

This one with Mrs W:

Pleasant enough ride out, good roads, bit of climbing, and lots of wind.

Following day went out solo and did this:

Bit of an out and back to avoid the busy roads around Arrecife, but the climb was cracking, zero cars up the east side up the little road, and not a lot of traffic on the main road. Still windy.

The guys at revolution are pretty clued up on routes depending on how far you want to ride / how long the boss allows you out for. Theres also the Ironman route if you fancy a long ride out.

Have fun!

Thanks - they look pretty good, especially as I can send them my bike fit stats to pick the correct size and set it up.
