Anyone walked through the Lairig Ghru over the weekend? Is there much snow? How 'heavy' is the walking. I realise it varies day to day.... Thanks.

Probably quite heavy going over the summit. There are a couple of miles of boulderfields which will still be packed with snow just now. Unfortunately the temperatures this weekend have softened it up a lot, so I envisage a lot of breaking through in random places when you least expect it.

Was in Glen Derry and Coire Etchachan on Saturday and Sunday. There was a major thaw on Saturday and still melting on Sunday, so any snow bridges will be suspect while that lasts and burns are high. If there's a refreeze then the Lairig path will be like a skating rink when all the puddles ice over - it's very prone to that.
