Looking to book a villa for a family holiday in mainland Spain. Can anyone suggest any places near Via Ferrata?

I done a brilliant via ferrata route in Los vados climbing area near motril in the south of spain in October last year. I couldn't find it in a guide book but managed to get a little information on it by searching on Google. You would need a small sport climbing rack as it is mainly bolts not sections of cables like a regular vf route. The route is about 350-400 meters long.

Happy to give you a bit more information if sounds like what you are looking for.

Via ferrata on Ponoch, at Aventador crag, and a few others in the Costa Blanca region.

There's a few references to the Ponoch in this blog post, so might be helpful: http://www.mountain-journeys.co.uk/blog/category/via-ferrata
In reply to skizxi: hi. Quite a few in the area around Ronda in Andalucia. This web site lists most of them. http://www.spanishhighs.co.uk/via-ferratas-andalucia-spain.php Also one in our village, Montejaque. Our house is www.casadelimon.co.uk but other brands are available !
No places to hire gear so you need your own plus a pulley suitable for cables and one steel crab for the tyroleans. Plenty of climbing nearby. El Chorro and the Camonito Del Rey is about one hour.

Hi
Try this video of the via ferrata at Montejaque.

You need a Petzl Tandem Cable pulley as these are designed to use on steel cables. A steel carabiner on a sling fixed to your harness is also a good idea as you will wear a groove into an alloy one and it will eventually fail
