Hi,

I'll be bouldering around UK this spring and I'm looking for cheap accommodations - as wild camping seems mostly forbidden.
So, do you have any recommendations for cheap, friendly and convenient campsites in the peak district (Eric Byne Memorial Campsite seems to be a good bet) And Yorkshire ?

Also, is quietly sleeping in my car on car-parks tolerated ?

I would bet that you will have less trouble wildcamping than sleeping in a car.

Normally nobody cares in UK about wildcampers as long as you leave no trace and stay away from dwellings.

In Edale (Peak District) I have stayed few nights in Fieldhead Campsite in 2013 and was very pleased.

Though, it is quite unusual to see wild camping more accepted than sleeping in a car.
