Noted in Ed Douglas Tweet - Alison Hargreaves' son Tom Ballard solos Colton-MacIntyre on Grandes Jorasses. Four north faces down, two to go. Here's PlanetMountain story Ed linked to: http://www.planetmountain.com/english/News/shownews1.lasso?l=2&keyid=42...

Why is this not on the "News" section of UKC, surely it should be ? Impressive stuff with such a moving back story.

Because UKC struggle to put up more than one news story a day

I'm sure I saw a post on UKC recently saying that the top of the Colton-Mac was on the verge of falling down!

You're not going mad, I saw it as well. I don't know where it has gone.

He is maturing into quite the Alpinist just like his mum, that is a very fast time considering Ueli Stecks time of 2hours thirty or something...... good luck with the remaining climbs.

Well he does have form, having climbed the Eiger North Face as a foetus.

very pleased to see this, especially after the truly bonkers plan of a few years back (if memory serves) to solo k2 in winter without oxygen via a new route.
