I have a civic 2.2 turbo diesel, which has 75,000 on the clock. Today, it started doing something odd.

On motorway, it was fine, but when I left, it was slow and juddered on pulling away from lights etc and when taking my foot off the peddle it struggled. It feels as if it is briefly fuel starved, as it picks up. When on idle it ticks over ok. No warning, lights on, yet.

Not a mechanic, and it might just be mucky fuel filter, but I had identical problems with my nissan. lots of faff and exploratory surgery, but in the end it cost me a new turbo

Possible the vacuum sensor on the turbo? Local garage will be able diagnose on a quick plug to the diagnostics box i reckon.

cheers

Think of the simple things first. Change the fuel filter and check for leaks that may be admitting air into the fuel lines.

As luck has it, it is in for service and MOT tomorrow, and a new fuel filter should come with it. I have let them know too.
