That rockfall looks like it's to the right of Red Pencil which takes the leftmost corner on the face to the OH.

Yep, the rockfall looks like it's taken out one side of Brass Monkey (HVS 5a) - No doubt Red Pencil will go at some point though!

I'm amazed how Red Pencil Direct stays there. From the pic it looks like it still is though!

I remember being amazed any of it was still standing after doing Gladiator!
In reply to UKC News:
I once carried a rope and rack 14 miles in order to do Red Pencil Direct on a round of the Yorkshire three peaks in October. Unsurprisingly it was green and 'orrible!

Looks like I might not get to do it now

In reply to Nicholas Livesey:

We could go and chance it again Nick.
We should have revisited it sooner when it was more stable.

Soon the Classic Rock book will have to be revised with an "underlying routes"section for those that will have soon fallen down.

That's exactly the kind of nutty suggestion I would expect from you mate

In reply to Nicholas Livesey:

Nutty is the flavour of the rock.Sort of held together by bits of different size.
Anyway where's your sense of adventure?

Are you up for the eclipse photography tomorrow?(Whether it be over penyghent or in sun-soaked Wales)
Sadly I will be working..
In reply to veteye:

Working too Rob, but start at 10

In reply to Nicholas Livesey:

I wouldn't worry too much quite yet, the photo clearly shows that none of the Red Pencil routes is affected.

Aaaarrrrrgggghh it be the curse o'Ken 'the quiet man' Wilson so it be, they says the only way to lift the curse be to bolt all the routes top to bottom...

Then there could be a lower off at the top in the form of a memorial to someone from Clackmannanshire(spelling?) in rusting ill-designed splendour.(To combine with another thread hereabouts)
