Is it well signposted and easy to navigate?

I guess it wouldn't be in their interest to make it easy to navigate without buying one of their maps.

There's a bit on the Bearbones forums - http://bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/phpBB3/ and search for sandstone.

I think the signing is "small discs" rather than huge signposts.
