I'm looking for a small cutter with an appropriate jig. I've got to cut a 55 mm x 5mm x5mm ceramic bar to only 50mm long (+/-0.1mm). A water cooled diamond saw tile cutter seems to "big" for the job, so I was thinking of dremel, but it needs to be held in a jig so the cut and polished ends are co-planar. Dremel don't do a jig. Apart from getting one made any other suggestions for a small diamond saw?

Hi Phil

To cut to the accuracy you stated you will most likely need a cnc type machine.

If you can settle for more rough and ready cutting I would use a tile cutter. This should give you more control by offering up the piece to the blade on a base instead of using a hand tool.

I have cut small ceramic tiles, 4 x 10 x 50 mm long using a tile cutter v well, just not to +/- 0.1 mm.

There are plenty of jigs for Dremels - just Google that.
