Must. Try. Harder.

Yup - I know generating quality content and refreshing the site with it several times a week must be difficult, but advertising isn't news, it's just advertising. Same with gear competitions which are basically advertising.

Surely there's got to be more happening in the climbing world out there UKC?

Have a closer look at the picture and see if you can figure out how they have achieved the 50% weight reduction.

Advertising dressed up as an April Fool's gag is still advertising. OK maybe I'm stretching a point, but the Inn Pinn article doesn't have branding on it - I just think there's a bit too much pseudo-news content. Rant over!

I'm sure they accept donations if you want to pay for a site without advertising.

I thought the gag was entertaining enough, not as good as the Holdz one last year where they said they were going to pressure wash all the boulders in the peak district and got everyone fuming.

Also, it usually says something like this:

Dear Alpkit,

Please put hoods on your synthetic jackets, plus add a few inches on the length of the arms. Considering the outdoors is mainly enjoyed by fit people (feel free to shoot me down for this sweeping statement), I am still shocked that L and XL just means fatter. No, no, no, large should mean longer in arm length and torso length. In my opinion there should be a 'wide' range not a 'tall' range. Also, if you do decide to put hoods on your clothing, please take into consideration that tall people also have longer necks.

Best regards from a 6'6, skint man,

Alex
