Thinking of taking the beloved away from the weekend of the anniversary, end of the month, we have two well behaved dogs. Ideally countryside thinking not to rural so we can go to a pub or get a bite to eat. Thinking rolling hills or beach based location. no more than a 2 hour drive from Liverpool.

Any ideas? open to suggestions

How about staying in the Bunk House at Waun Fawr, North Wales (Bach Adventures) it's about a tenner a night, lots of hills there to have a good time in, not far from some good locations like Beddgelert and Capel Curig (by car) I did some good walks around Moel Tryfan, Mynydd Mawr and the surrounding area, some nice nature reserves there too,
Plus the steam train as well.

Its basic but I had to good times there ... Expect it to be busy this time of year though

Saturday - Drive through hills into North Wales. Nice walk up e.g. Model Siabod. Bad weather option do something touristy. Drive thru to Lleyn peninsula. B&B/ camp somewhere down the end beyond Abersoch with a nice sea view. Evening meal in Abersoch or Aberdaron followed by evening stroll on beach.
Sunday - lie in followed by walk on beach. Choose beach depending on wind direction. If really bad weather fly a kite on Hells Mouth. Steady drive home stopping at all the posey gear shops on the way while beloved in good mood.
Job done.
